Combining a possessive with unan is equivalent to the English on my own, on your own, etc., but it can also be translated myself, yourself etc.. It has different forms according to the person (as in English by myself, etc...). So we have :

• Ma unan, da-unan, e-unan, hec'h-unan in the singular
• Hon-unan, hoc'h-unan, o-unan in the plural

Note that before vowels, hec'h, hoc'h are used instead of he, ho.

These sentences are quite similar. In the second sentence, we have used an infinitive instead of a place (and notice that it undergoes mutation). This is how the near future is expressed in Breton. It is similar to English : bezañ o vont da ... - to be going to....

The negative form of the verb bezañ when followed by evit indicates impossibility or inability :

N'on ket evit debriñ da soubenn

N'eo ket evit kompren alamaneg
